Final Project

One thing that has always inspired and interested me is pattern. I love the elements of repeating shape that keeps your eyes constantly moving around it. For my final project I plan to use a combination of fabric and printed material to create a final piece that is closer related to the work I've done in the past few years. Native American art and culture has also been particularly inspiring to my body of work so I hope to include some elements of that into my piece as well. My plan is to use fabric or leather as a backdrop with images printed on the fabric or ironed on. Lastly, I hope to include some detail stitching around some of the elements to integrate all parts of the composition.

Fantasy Appliance Final Image

The fantasy appliance that sits on this shelf is meant to represent a unique item that could be found amongst the full and cluttered shelves of an antique mall. This phone robot is a mixture of many different items which, combined, create a strange and interesting piece of art. My hope is that the robot would stand out as a functioning appliance and also blend in with all these other antique items.

Tree Project Statement

For my interpretation of the tree assignment, I am looking at not only trees but many other plants growing in the area. Particularly my garden at home has been a great inspiration to me. I hope to incorporate the beautiful shapes and colors of many different plants into a hybrid tree, representing a tree of all the plant life surrounding us.
